Joya de Nicaragua at PCA 2025: Innovations and New Releases
Joya de Nicaragua, Nicaragua’s oldest premium cigar brand, presented modestly at the PCA 2025. They introduced the Antaño CT Gran Cónsul and new Go-Packs, while also updating packaging for existing products. Significant releases are planned for May, June, and July 2025, demonstrating the brand’s ongoing innovation.
Joya de Nicaragua stands out as the oldest commercial premium cigar brand from Nicaragua, making it a captivating company to cover at the PCA Convention & Trade Show. The staff consistently provides a pleasant experience, and conversations with Juan Ignacio Martínez, the president, are always engaging. This year, Joya de Nicaragua shared a booth within the Drew Estate space, which, despite its proximity, featured a relatively understated presentation.
Although this year’s display was modest, Joya de Nicaragua introduced new packaging for its products, alongside one new cigar. The Joya de Nicaragua Antaño CT Gran Cónsul has been released, featuring a blend that previously won halfwheel’s 2019 Cigar of the Year. Exclusively available to Club de Amigos members, this new size is priced at $11 per cigar with a production of 500 boxes of 20, set to release in May 2025.
Additionally, Joya de Nicaragua has launched Go-Packs, each containing five 6 x 50 toro cigars. A Mixed Go-Pack is also available; however, the Rosalones Line Go-Pack will only be sold internationally. The prices for the Go-Packs include: Antaño Line for $45, Joya Line for $37.50, Clásico Line for $37.50, Mixed Go-Pack for $37.50, and Rosalones Line with market-dependent pricing, all releasing in July 2025.
The Cuatro Cinco Reserva Especial, having debuted in 2015, is receiving updated packaging that mirrors the Cinco Décadas style, with wooden separators, while maintaining blend and pricing. It will be regularly produced and is expected to launch in June 2025. Furthermore, the Joya de Nicaragua Número Uno will transition to 13-count boxes universally, moving away from the previous U.S. configuration of 25-count boxes. This change aims to enhance the presentation and reduce costs, with the release scheduled for April 2025.
In summary, Joya de Nicaragua continues to innovate while honoring its heritage as a premium cigar brand. The introduction of new products, updated packaging, and enhanced sampler options reflect the brand’s commitment to quality and market evolution. With notable releases scheduled for the upcoming years, enthusiasts can look forward to savoring these unique offerings from this esteemed company.
