The Turkish hospitality sector is preparing for increased tourism activity with upcoming holidays including Eid al-Fitr, Nevruz, and Easter. Aiming for 65 million visitors and $64 billion in revenues, the industry has seen a 15% rise in Eid bookings. Industry leaders express optimism for a strong tourist season starting from the end of March.

The Turkish hospitality industry anticipates a surge in both domestic and international tourism due to upcoming celebrations including Eid al-Fitr, Nevruz, and Easter, coupled with the school break. The nation aims to attract 65 million visitors and generate $64 billion in revenue this year. Eid al-Fitr, occurring from March 29 to April 1, aligns with the school mid-term vacation, encouraging travel as many individuals visit family or vacation in resort destinations.

The Nevruz holiday, beginning March 21, is expected to drive an influx of tourists from Iran, the Middle East, and Turkic nations. The local tourism sector is also optimistic for the Easter holiday in April and Russia’s Victory Day in May, key periods that impact visitor numbers. Bookings for Eid al-Fitr are reportedly up by 15 percent year-on-year, according to Mehmet İşler, vice president of the Turkish Hoteliers’ Federation (TÜROFED).

In summary, the Turkish hospitality sector is poised for a fruitful tourism season driven by various holidays in the coming months. The increase in bookings for holidays such as Eid al-Fitr signals a promising start, with expectations of full hotel occupancy and robust visitor numbers from both local and international markets. The combination of favorable conditions and holiday celebrations is projected to contribute significantly to the tourism industry’s growth in Turkey.
