Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski to Visit Zimbabwe for Historical Diplomatic Mission

Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski will visit Zimbabwe from March 14-16, marking the first visit by a Polish FM. He will focus on the EU’s stance against Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine and will engage in bilateral talks with leaders from several southern African nations to strengthen cooperation.

Radosław Sikorski, the Foreign Minister of Poland, is set to make a historic visit to Zimbabwe from March 14 to 16. This visit marks the first time a Polish foreign minister has traveled to the country. As part of Poland’s presidency in the EU Council, he will represent the European Union’s stance on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine during his diplomatic mission in southern Africa.

While in Zimbabwe, Sikorski plans to engage in bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Angola, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. These discussions will focus on Poland’s position regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine and will address ways to enhance cooperation with southern African nations.

In a broader context, EU leaders are seeking to strengthen ties with South Africa, as shown by a $5.10 billion investment package announced during a recent visit. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen highlighted Europe’s commitment to supporting South Africa’s economic growth and clean energy initiatives, especially as relations with the United States remain strained under President Trump.
