Côte d’Ivoire Embassy Signs Agreement for New Headquarters in New Capital
ACUD and Côte d’Ivoire’s Embassy in Cairo have signed a land sale agreement for a new embassy headquarters in the New Administrative Capital’s Diplomatic District, reflecting strong bilateral ties and urban development ambitions.
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has formalized a land sale agreement with the Embassy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Cairo. This agreement pertains to a 5,000-square-meter plot designated for constructing a new embassy headquarters and the ambassador’s residence within the Diplomatic District of the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
The agreement was executed by Khaled Abbas, Chairperson and Managing Director of ACUD, alongside Albert G. Dole, Côte d’Ivoire’s Ambassador to Egypt, with representatives from both factions present. Ambassador Dole expressed his approval of the relocation, stating that it symbolizes the strong bilateral relations and reflects the directives of the Ivorian President. He emphasized the NAC’s significance in urban development through its modern infrastructure and ample green spaces.
Chairperson Abbas acknowledged the agreement, expressing appreciation to Ambassador Dole for facilitating the process expediently. He noted the embassy’s relocation as a significant contribution to the Diplomatic District, where an increasing number of embassies are establishing their presence, enhancing the district’s diplomatic stature.
The first phase of the master plan for the New Administrative Capital includes a designated Diplomatic District to concentrate diplomatic missions currently dispersed throughout Cairo. This initiative seeks to create a modern diplomatic hub, thereby elevating the capital’s profile as a center for global and regional diplomacy.
With this agreement, ACUD continues its commitment to drawing diplomatic missions to the New Capital, following a series of similar endeavors, including a recent agreement with the Embassy of Algeria in Cairo.
The agreement between ACUD and the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire marks a significant step in establishing a modern diplomatic hub within the New Administrative Capital. This initiative not only strengthens diplomatic relations but also contributes to the urban development of the NAC. The increased relocation of foreign embassies to this area underscores its potential as a leading center for international diplomacy.
