Central African Republic Graduates 438 New Soldiers Trained by Rwanda

On March 7, 2025, the Central African Republic Armed Forces (FACA) celebrated the graduation of 438 new soldiers, comprising 38 women, after completing six months of military training under the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF). This training is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen CAR’s security through a bilateral cooperation framework between the two nations that has successfully trained hundreds of soldiers over the past two years.
The graduation ceremony occurred at Camp Kassaï military barracks in Bangui, with CAR’s Prime Minister Félix Moloua representing President Faustin Archange Touadera. Notable attendees included Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, RDF Army Chief of Staff, and other high-ranking military officials. The Prime Minister praised the collaboration between RDF and FACA, acknowledging its positive impacts on national security.
Prime Minister Moloua stated, “We are pleased with the military cooperation that has helped reinforce FACA. Our government is satisfied with the work done.” Furthermore, Gen. Zephlin Mamadou, Chief of General Staff of FACA, highlighted the importance of the RDF’s training in augmenting the capacity of FACA to face security challenges effectively.
Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi noted that the training is a result of the bilateral initiative aimed at cultivating professional soldiers who can defend CAR’s territorial integrity. He assured continued RDF support in fostering FACA’s growth through various forms of military and career development training. Graduates of the program demonstrated their acquired skills, including proficiency with various weapons, during the ceremony.
