This information was disclosed during an interview on GhanaWeb’s “People and Places” hosted by Ernestina Serwaa Asante.

Quao emphasized that many Ghanaians are unaware that Martin Luther King Jr., an iconic leader of the U.S. civil rights movement, was present during Nkrumah’s famous speech at the same location where it was delivered.

Furthermore, Quao mentioned that Ghana has hosted other prominent personalities, such as boxer Muhammad Ali, civil rights leader Malcolm X, musician Louis Armstrong, and poet Maya Angelou. He noted that Nkrumah’s influence reached far beyond Ghana, significantly impacting Africa and the world.
