In particular, regions such as Azilal, Beni Mellal, Midelt, Tinghir, Ouarzazate, and Al Haouz are forecasted to receive between 10 to 15 centimeters of snow. Meanwhile, provinces like Ifrane, Boulemane, Taroudant, and Chichaoua will likely see 5 to 10 centimeters of snowfall during the same period.

The forecasted weather conditions exacerbate the challenges faced by residents in Al Haouz, a region grappling with aftereffects from the earthquake. Footage circulating online depicts substantial snowfall burying temporary shelters erected for those affected. The earthquake, which resulted in the loss of at least 3,000 lives, significantly damaged infrastructure, displacing many families.

In response to the crisis, Morocco has established a fund with contributions from citizens, companies, and various donors to address the aftermath of the earthquake. As of January of the preceding year, the government reported that approximately 56,000 families in the impacted areas benefited from financial assistance aimed at rebuilding their homes.

Furthermore, the government indicated a completion rate of 95% regarding necessary repairs and construction, supported by a total budget of around MAD 1.4 billion. Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of Government, stated that over 53,000 construction permits have been issued to families affected, which accounts for 90% of the surveyed population in the provinces of Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Taroudant, Azilal, and Ouarzazate.
