India Criticizes Pakistan at UN for Kashmir Remarks, Emphasizes Progress in Jammu and Kashmir
At the UN Human Rights Council, India accused Pakistan of being a failed state surviving on foreign aid. Kshitij Tyagi affirmed India’s claim over Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized recent advancements in the region. He urged Pakistan to address its internal issues rather than fixate on India. India’s stance was echoed by Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, reaffirming Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India.
At the recent meeting of the UN Human Rights Council, India strongly criticized Pakistan, branding it a failed state that depends on international aid. Kshitij Tyagi, representing India at the session, stated that it is not surprising to witness Pakistan’s leaders perpetuating false narratives derived from their military and terrorist affiliations. He highlighted, “It is regrettable to see Pakistan’s leaders and delegates continuing to spread falsehoods handed down by its military terrorist complex. ”
India reaffirmed its claim over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, emphasizing that both territories are integral to India. Tyagi pointed out the significant political, social, and economic advancements made in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years as evidence of the people’s faith in the government. “The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. ”
India expressed a desire for Pakistan to move beyond its fixation on India and concentrate on addressing its own national challenges. Tyagi noted that India is committed to promoting democracy and development, stating, “India remains focused on democracy, progress and ensuring dignity for its people. Values that Pakistan would do well to learn from.”
The criticisms from India accompanied earlier remarks by Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, who reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is and will forever remain a part of India. He condemned Pakistan’s misinformation efforts during discussions at the UN Security Council regarding international governance. Harish stated, “I would like to reaffirm that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always be, an integral and inalienable part of India.”
India’s firm response at the UN Human Rights Council underscored its position on Kashmir, challenging Pakistan’s narrative and stressing its own commitment to progress in the region. The remarks from Tyagi and Harish collectively reflect India’s stance that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of its territory while highlighting Pakistan’s reliance on external support and issues that hinder its development. India advocates for a focus on democratic values and progress as essential for a stable future.
