Malaysia and Egypt Reject Plans to Displace Palestinians from Gaza

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi firmly rejected any plans to displace Palestinians from Gaza. He highlighted collaborative efforts alongside Japan under the East Asia Cooperation for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) initiative aimed at rebuilding Gaza through enhanced international solidarity. This week, Egypt disclosed its commitment to creating a comprehensive plan for Gaza’s reconstruction, emphasizing that this process will occur without displacing its Palestinian inhabitants. Amidst increasing pressure from the United States, Jordan and Egypt are urged to accept Palestinian refugees, following calls from former U.S. President Donald Trump to control Gaza and relocate its residents for redevelopment purposes. Trump previously reiterated his position in a meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah, advocating for the establishment of a tourist attraction in place of Gaza.
