First Andes Silver Engages SPF Drilling for Santas Gloria Project’s 2000 Meter Program
First Andes Silver Ltd. has secured SPF Drilling S.A.C. for a 2000-meter diamond drilling program at its Santas Gloria Project in Peru. Mobilization is expected this month with drilling commencing in July 2025. The focus will be on extending mineralization at the San Jorge vein system, building on successful 2024 results.
First Andes Silver Ltd., a company based in Vancouver, has made important strides in its Santas Gloria Project in Peru. As of May 23, 2025, the company announced that it has officially secured SPF Drilling S.A.C. to conduct a drilling program involving 2000 meters of diamond drilling. Mobilization of the drill rigs is expected to kick off this month, with the actual drilling set to commence in July. The Santas Gloria Project is entirely owned by First Andes, highlighting the company’s commitment to this venture.
Colin Smith, the CEO and Director of First Andes, expressed enthusiasm over the partnership with SPF. He stated, “We are very pleased to secure SPF Drilling for this phase of drilling at Santas Gloria… their deep experience in Peruvian terrain, strong safety record, and proven capabilities make them an ideal partner.” His statements highlight confidence in the capabilities of SPF Drilling, especially after the success of the 2024 drilling program, which yielded impressive high-grade intercepts.
This upcoming drill campaign, slated for 2025, will involve approximately 2000 meters spread across 15 to 17 drill holes. It primarily aims to follow up on the favorable outcomes from the previous year’s drilling campaign. That previous program confirmed an undrilled mineralized system, presenting significant exploration potential. The focus of this new drilling will be on the San Jorge vein system, which produced the most promising results last year.
The San Jorge vein system, which stretches over 2.6 kilometers at the surface, has only been partially drilled, covering a mere 250 meters. All of the holes drilled so far returned high-grade silver intercepts, indicating robust mineralization at shallow depths. The 2025 drilling will attempt to explore those deeper sulphide zones that lie below the previously analyzed oxide zones.
The promising outcomes from 2024 included several high-profile assay intervals, illustrating the potential of the Santas Gloria property. The results confirm the presence of substantial silver deposits, warranting increased attention and further drilling. Highlighted intervals displayed impressive Ag and base metal content, pushing the company towards further exploration activities.
In summary, First Andes Silver is preparing to enhance its exploration efforts at the Santas Gloria Project in Peru with a new round of drilling. By partnering with SPF Drilling S.A.C., the company aims to build upon last year’s successful drilling results. The forthcoming 2000-meter campaign will focus on extending the mineralization depth of the San Jorge vein system, which has already shown strong potential. With a strategic approach, First Andes Silver looks poised to uncover more valuable insights in this promising mining district.
