Libya Engages in Security Meeting with Italy and Neighbors to Combat Immigration Challenges

Libya recently participated in a quadripartite coordination meeting alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Italy, focused on tackling illegal immigration in Naples, Italy. The meeting sought to promote ongoing regional collaboration to combat human trafficking and transnational crimes related to immigration. Emad Al-Trabelsi, the Acting Minister of Interior from the Government of National Unity, represented Libya at this significant gathering, alongside Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.
Discussions at the meeting centered on enhancing cooperation among the four nations to tackle illegal immigration through improved security measures and field coordination among relevant authorities. It was agreed that such cooperation would be vital in boosting regional security and addressing migration-related issues and associated criminal activities.
