Disturbingly, certain dismembered parts of Mr. Coatti’s body were discovered in a suitcase located in a nearby stream. Mayor Pinedo Cuello has promised that “this crime will not go unpunished” and vowed to bring the responsible parties to justice. A hotel employee revealed to the Colombian media that Mr. Coatti was conducting research on local fauna and was interested in visiting Minca.
