Belararox Identifies Promising Copper Targets in Botswana’s Kalahari Copper Belt

Belararox has identified over 20 copper targets in Botswana’s Kalahari Copper Belt Project using soil geochemistry. The company will conduct various surveys to refine drilling targets, with a 2,000-meter drilling program planned for July 2025. Belararox (ASX: BRX) has successfully identified over 20 promising areas within its Kalahari Copper Belt (KCB) Project in Botswana through soil sample geochemistry. The identified anomalies exhibit strong correlations between copper and zinc concentrations, distributed across six tenements. A thorough review of geological and geophysical data—including magnetics, gravity, and AMT—has indicated three notable regions with heightened prospectivity, located in proximity to existing copper deposits.

To further refine the drilling targets, Belararox intends to initiate AMT and ground-based gravity surveys in two of these promising areas, while conducting airborne electromagnetic surveys in the third region. A comprehensive drilling program, consisting of 2,000 meters of reverse circulation (RC) drilling, is scheduled to commence in July 2025, aimed at investigating these identified targets. The KCB Project’s strategic positioning near renowned copper ore bodies, such as Sandfire’s Motheo Copper Mine and MMG’s Khoemacau Mine, underscores its significant potential.

The soil sampling effort, which encompassed six tenements in the northeastern KCB area, involved the collection and analysis of 1,984 samples utilizing the pXRF Vanta technology. To ensure data accuracy, validation against wet chemistry analysis was conducted at ALS-Johannesburg laboratory. In addition, publicly accessible geophysical data underwent processing by Fathom Geophysics to better delineate deeper geological structures in the prospect area.

Exploration activities have focused on three main regions: the northeastern area near Maun, the central region adjacent to the MMG Khoemacau Hub, and the western vicinity bordering Cobre’s Kitlanya West and Ngami prospects. The planned surveys include ground-based gravity surveys for tenements PL0085, PL2742, and PL2746; AMT surveys for PL770, PL771, and PL772; as well as airborne electromagnetic surveys for PL773 and PL2743. These initiatives aim to pinpoint high-potential targets for drilling, which may include diamond drilling to thoroughly understand the geological units and stratigraphy.
