Tata Motors has officially partnered with Allied Motors to introduce its electric vehicle (EV) offerings in Mauritius, marking the first release of EVs outside of the SAARC region. This initiative follows the company’s recent entry into the Sri Lankan market with both internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV models. The three models launched in Mauritius are the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV, featuring mainly unchanged attributes except for a significant powertrain difference from their Indian counterparts.
The new EV lineup includes the Tiago EV with a 24 kWh battery providing 75 PS of power and a range of 190-210 km, the Punch EV equipped with a 35 kWh battery and 122 PS, offering a range of 270-290 km, and the Nexon EV featuring a 45 kWh battery that delivers 144 PS and a range of 350-375 km. Notably, the Tiago EV offers a slightly improved claimed range in Mauritius, though the other two models maintain the same specifications as those sold in India. There are no revisions to the equipment lists for these models.
In addition to these three models, Tata Motors has plans to expand its EV portfolio in India with upcoming launches such as the Harrier EV and Sierra EV, which were last displayed at the Auto Expo 2025. An all-electric version of the Safari is also anticipated to be introduced as Tata’s flagship EV.
Tata’s growing dominance in the EV sector reflects its commitment to sustainable transportation solutions, showcasing the company’s continuous innovation and market expansion strategies.
