JCSC Delegation Engages with Seychelles Leadership to Enhance Regional Security

On March 21, 2025, the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) embarked on a regional study tour aimed at enhancing regional security through strengthening industrial capacity and defense partnerships. During their visit to the Republic of Seychelles, the delegation, led by Deputy Commandant Brigadier David Chesire, was honored with a reception by His Excellency President Wavel Ramkalawan at the State House in Victoria.

Brigadier Chesire expressed his gratitude for the warm reception provided by the President, highlighting the friendly relations between Kenya and Seychelles. He also acknowledged the hospitality and support received from various Seychelles institutions throughout the visit, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of their strategic engagements.

In addressing the delegation, President Ramkalawan imparted significant advice to the student officers, stressing the importance of focus, loyalty, and patriotism in their military roles. Joining the delegation were senior officials, including Major General Michael Rosette, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces, along with other senior military personnel. The Kenyan team included Colonel Lois Wataka, the Kenya Defence Attaché, as well as faculty members and student officers representing several African nations such as Kenya, Burundi, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia.
