Facilitated by Guyanese Cubie Seegobin, this collaboration aims to provide not only equipment but also financial backing for the sport. The announcement was made at the National Track and Field Centre in Leonora during the CARIFTA Games trials on March 22.

The ceremony featured notable attendees including Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr., Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle, and AAG President Sheryl Hermonstine. Minister Ramson Jr. emphasized that Guyana’s potential as a Track and Field nation and its achievements at junior levels were instrumental in securing the partnership with Adidas.

He remarked, “This deal that Guyana has signed with Adidas, which is a world-class advanced company that any other country in the world would want to trade places with us right now for being able to secure this deal on your behalf. That’s how important it is to be recognised.” Director Ninvalle further noted the magnitude of this investment, suggesting that it would significantly enhance the sport’s profile in the country.
