War veterans led by Blessed Geza have announced a protest set for March 31, demanding Mnangagwa’s resignation due to corruption allegations against his associates and the nation’s deteriorating economy. Geza has also positioned Chiwenga as the rightful successor, challenging Mnangagwa’s leadership.

Responding to the prospect of protests, Paradza reassured attendees at the Harare International Conference Centre that as long as he remains in his position, no demonstrations would take place. Paradza emphasized, “Our duty as the youth league is to defend the President and the party,” while dismissing any social media discourse about protests.

Geza’s escalating criticisms resulted in an immediate dismissal from Zanu PF, as Information Minister Jenfan Muswere condemned his remarks as delusional. Muswere urged the public to disregard Geza’s statements, describing them as misguided.

Factional strife within Zanu PF has become increasingly apparent, with the rivalry between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga intensifying as the party’s 2027 congress approaches.
