FCTA Approves N242.8 Million for Microsoft 365 License to Enhance Revenue Operations

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) of Nigeria has approved N242.8 million for a Microsoft 365 license to digitize the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service’s operations. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has authorized an investment of N242.8 million for the acquisition of a Microsoft 365 license, which aims to digitize operations within the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS). This pivotal decision was revealed by Mr. Michael Ango, the Acting Executive Chairman of FCT-IRS, after a meeting chaired by Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja.

Mr. Ango stated that the FCTA is dedicated to substantial technological investments to enhance revenue generation and collection efficiency in the FCT. He remarked, “So, this is also one of those investments in technology that the FCT is undertaking. The licence, if procured, will enhance our ability to move most of our manual processes into automated processes. It will enhance our ability to communicate within our offices.”

The implementation of the Microsoft 365 license is expected to automate numerous manual processes, facilitate better internal communication, and increase operational efficiency within the FCT-IRS. Furthermore, it will contribute to reducing paper usage and enhancing record-keeping by enabling the secure storage of important documents and information in the cloud.

Mr. Ango stressed that these digitization initiatives are crucial for improving the operations of FCT-IRS and will ultimately assist the government in increasing revenue for the continued development of the Federal Capital Territory under Mr. Wike’s leadership.
