Schumacher’s entry was necessitated by the unavailability of Bertrand Gachot, who faced legal issues at the time.

The team’s pinnacle occurred in 1998 when Damon Hill and Ralf Schumacher achieved a remarkable first and second finish at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps. The following season saw Heinz-Harald Frentzen attain third place in the drivers’ championship for the resourceful team. Unfortunately, Jordan Grand Prix faced decline due to engine changes and diminished sponsorships, although they celebrated a final victory when Giancarlo Fisichella won the 2003 Brazil Grand Prix.

Jordan, a close associate of Bernie Ecclestone, sold the team in 2005. Despite operating on limited resources, the team celebrated five victories, four of which were achieved on track. Following numerous changes, the team has since evolved into Aston Martin, continuing operations from Jordan’s former Silverstone base.

Tragically, in December 2024, Jordan announced his diagnosis of aggressive prostate and bladder cancer. Born on March 30, 1948, in Dublin, he is survived by his wife, Marie, a former Irish basketball player, and their four children.
