Currently, government officials are soliciting updates from prospective new shareholders who are expected to revive the sugar production project and consequently reinstate jobs for displaced workers. Secretary of State for Maputo Province, Henriques Bongece, recently visited the site to assess the situation and expressed optimism regarding the restoration of sugar production at Maragra.
