Egypt and Jordan Respond Positively to Trump’s Assurance on Gaza Palestinians

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump made comments assuring that Palestinians would not be expelled from the Gaza Strip, a statement welcomed by both Egypt and Jordan. At that time, Trump proposed turning Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East” while suggesting the expulsion of Palestinian inhabitants to neighboring Jordan and Egypt, a notion both nations firmly rejected.

Egypt’s foreign ministry expressed gratitude for Trump’s statement, emphasizing the significance of not displacing the residents of Gaza. Jordan’s foreign ministry similarly praised the president’s comments and highlighted the need for a just and lasting peace through the two-state solution.
