Tafoki noted, “Nigeria is a highly religious country, and all major religions here forbid nudity and obscenity in any form.”

In his presentation, he highlighted warnings from professionals in psychology and sociology regarding the detrimental effects of exposure to adult content, which can include addiction, desensitization, and altered personal and family values. Additionally, he linked these issues to societal challenges such as adultery and prostitution. Following a favorable voice vote, the House tasked its Committees on Communications and Legislative Compliance to ensure the enforcement of this mandate within four weeks.

Speaker Tajudeen Abass reinforced the importance of this directive, emphasizing that ISPs that do not adhere to the guidelines would face potential sanctions.
