World Update 19 for Microsoft Flight Simulator enhances gameplay with 75 new points of interest in Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, along with new handcrafted airports. The CAP-4 Paulistinha aircraft is also launched, available for free to some users, further expanding the simulator’s offerings.

World Update 19: Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana has been officially launched for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. This extensive and complimentary update presents breathtaking natural vistas, vibrant city recreations, and notable landmarks. The Microsoft Flight Simulator team has collaborated with Bing Maps, Maxar, and Vexcel to curate an updated experience by integrating a variety of recent geospatial data sources, including aerial photography and satellite imagery.

The update introduces 75 points of interest (POIs) across the highlighted regions, featuring significant sites such as the Christ the Redeemer statue and Monte Roraima. Additionally, four TIN cities in Brazil are included: Brasilia, Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paulo. Furthermore, seven bespoke airports have been crafted by Gaya Simulations, enhancing the user’s flight experience in this update.

The handcrafted airports encompass: Santarem-Maestro Wilson Fonseca International Airport (SBSN); Foz do Iguacu International Airport (SBFI); Fernando de Noronha Airport (SBFN); and Santos Dumont (SBRJ) in Brazil. Additional airports include Kaieteur International Airport (SYKA/PKSA) in Guyana, Zorg en Hoop Airport (SMZO) in Suriname, and Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni Airport (SOOM) in French Guiana.

Moreover, users can engage in three Discovery Flights, three Landing Challenges, and three Bush Trips exclusive to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Starting March 17th, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will feature Brazil-centric content, including a helicopter challenge, rally race, and low-altitude challenge, enriching gameplay.

Additionally, the Local Legend 20: CAP-4 Paulistinha has been introduced as a new aircraft, a Brazilian design from the 1940s by Companhia Aeronáutica Paulista. This light aircraft, which shares some characteristics with the American Piper Cub, features a Franklin 4AC engine generating 65 horsepower, with a cruise speed of 87 MPH and a range of 310 miles.

Developed in conjunction with iniBuilds, the CAP-4 Paulistinha boasts six liveries and is available as a complimentary addition for all Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 users as compensation for prior launch challenges. Users of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 may acquire this aircraft from the MSFS Marketplace for $14.99.

The release of World Update 19 significantly enhances the Microsoft Flight Simulator experience by introducing extensive and vibrant updates for Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. With 75 new points of interest and handcrafted airports, the update promises a wealth of new adventures for users. Adding to this, the introduction of the CAP-4 Paulistinha as a Local Legend aircraft exemplifies the ongoing commitment to enriching user experience with aerial exploration.
