At a Cabinet meeting, President Boakai emphasized the necessity for a thorough investigation into unresolved cases, including the disappearances of boys and the deaths of auditors, stating that “The Liberian people deserve answers.”

President Boakai instructed law enforcement to accelerate investigations, collaborate with international partners if necessary, and keep the public updated. While Counselor Gongloe commended the President’s efforts to tackle these unresolved cases, he stressed the importance of inclusivity in the investigation, urging that it not be confined to events occurring during the current administration.

Among the notable unexplained deaths is that of Counselor Michael Allison, a whistleblower found dead under suspicious circumstances in 2015, who had been involved in a significant investigation at the time of his demise.

Another case is that of Harry Greaves, a prominent figure whose decomposed body was discovered in 2016. The initial findings indicated drowning, yet public skepticism remains regarding the true circumstances of his death, prompting government officials, including the former Minister of Information, to seek U.S. assistance in uncovering the facts surrounding the case to ensure clarity and finality in response to public demand.
