Passing of Former Army Commander General Isaac Chisuzi Announced
The current Zambia Army Commander, Lieutenant General Geoffrey Zyeele, has announced the death of former Army Commander General Isaac Chisuzi at the Maina Soko Medical Centre in Lusaka. Lieutenant General Geoffrey Zyeele, the current Zambia Army Commander, has reported the passing of former Army Commander, General Isaac Chisuzi, at the Maina Soko Medical Centre in Lusaka following a brief illness. General Chisuzi held the position of Army Commander from January 24, 2002, until April 4, 2010, marking a notable tenure as the longest-serving Army Commander in Zambia’s history. Moreover, he distinguished himself as the only Army Commander to achieve the rank of Four Star General.
This announcement was conveyed through a statement from Zambia Army Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Sydney Mwewa, expressing deep sorrow over General Chisuzi’s demise. In the statement, it was articulated: “It is with great sadness that the Commander Zambia Army Lieutenant General Geoffrey Choongo ZYEELE announces the passing on of the tenth former Army Commander General Isaac Arizona Soda CHISUZI.” The Army will honor his contributions and legacy meticulously during this period of mourning.
