On Friday, March 7, 2025, Mr. Simon Agianab, the Dean of the Parliamentary Press Corps (PPC), urged President John Mahama, Speaker of Parliament Mr. Alban Bagbin, and Chief Justice Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Torkonoo to prioritize the welfare of journalists. This appeal for improved working conditions, safety, and necessary resources underscores the need for effective reporting and a robust press.

Mr. Agianab emphasized that “a vibrant democratic society thrives on the watchdog role of journalists,” highlighting the significance of supporting a free press.
