Regarding economic issues, Onanuga stated that the Tinubu administration has effectively stabilized Nigeria’s economy, enhancing its financial status. He reported improvements in the balance of trade, stronger foreign reserves, moderated inflation, and a strengthening naira. Additionally, the establishment of local refining capacity through the Dangote Refinery and NNPCL refineries has been beneficial.

The government also highlighted initiatives aimed at fostering job creation and empowering the youth, including 3MTT, NATEP, LEEP, IDiCE, NiYA, and the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, which are anticipated to create over 10 million jobs. Moreover, Onanuga mentioned an increase in funding for infrastructure, healthcare, education, and security, pointing to the N54.9 trillion budget for 2025 as a key element of economic revitalization.

International recognition was also received, with Chatham House commending Nigeria’s economic competitiveness, asserting that “Nigeria’s economy has been most competitive in 25 years due to his reforms.” Although acknowledging ongoing economic hardships faced by many Nigerians, Onanuga expressed confidence that the government’s direction would lead to a promising future, affirming that President Tinubu and his team are committed to improving the nation.
