In an official statement, the GNU described these reports as “misleading” and “completely false.” This announcement followed social media speculation regarding a statement made by Minister of Local Governance, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, regarding immigrant settlement after his meeting with International Organization for Migration chief, Nicoletta Giordano.
