Angola Anticipates 25% Growth in Coffee Production by 2025

Angola plans to harvest over 8,000 tons of coffee in 2025, increasing production by 2,000 tons from the previous year. Director of the National Coffee Institute, Vasco Goncalves, attributes this growth to increased investments in the sector. Current coffee prices on the domestic market range from 2 million to 3 million kwanza, with Cuanza Norte leading as the top producing region.

Angola has set a goal to harvest more than 8,000 tons of commercial coffee by 2025, marking an increase of 2,000 tons from the previous year. This growth is largely attributed to heightened investments from both farmers and companies within the agricultural sector. Vasco Goncalves, the director-general of the National Coffee Institute, emphasized this positive trend.

Currently, the price for a ton of commercial coffee fluctuates between 2 million to 3 million kwanza, which equates to approximately 2,192 to 3,289 U.S. dollars in the domestic market. Cuanza Norte Province is recognized as Angola’s foremost coffee-producing region, with Uige and Cuanza Sul following closely behind.
