ACUD Partners with Côte d’Ivoire Embassy for New Headquarters in NAC
ACUD has signed an agreement with Côte d’Ivoire’s Embassy to develop a new embassy headquarters in the New Administrative Capital’s Diplomatic District. This initiative reflects enhanced diplomatic ties and aims to create a centralized and modern diplomatic hub in Egypt.
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has entered into a land sale agreement with the Embassy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Cairo. The transaction involves a 5,000-square-meter plot designated for the construction of the new embassy headquarters and the ambassador’s residence in the Diplomatic District of the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
The agreement was formalized by Khaled Abbas, the Chairperson and Managing Director of ACUD, alongside Ambassador Albert G. Dole of Côte d’Ivoire, with representatives present from both parties. Ambassador Dole voiced his support for the relocation, citing it as a reflection of the robust diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He remarked on the NAC’s modern infrastructure and amenities, highlighting that it is a substantial upgrade in urban development. He stressed the importance of the Diplomatic District’s design suitability for diplomatic operations, praising ACUD for their expedited facilitation of the contract signing.
Chairperson Abbas recognized the significance of the agreement, thanking Ambassador Dole. He noted that hosting Côte d’Ivoire’s embassy is an important enhancement to the diplomatic district, which has seen a rising interest among various nations in relocating their embassies to the NAC.
The master plan for this phase of the New Administrative Capital includes a designated Diplomatic District, intended to house all foreign embassies and diplomatic missions presently distributed throughout Cairo. This initiative aims to establish a unified, advanced diplomatic center, bolstering the capital’s stature as a regional and global diplomacy hub.
The arrangement with the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire is part of ACUD’s broader strategy to draw diplomatic missions into the New Capital, following similar agreements including a recent one with the Embassy of Algeria.
The signing of the agreement between ACUD and the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire signifies a commitment to enhancing diplomatic relations through the establishment of modern embassies in the New Administrative Capital. This move supports a broader vision for centralized diplomatic operations, highlighting the NAC’s potential as an international diplomacy center. Such developments continue to position Egypt favorably in the international diplomatic landscape.
