Iran Considers Nuclear Talks Focusing on Militarization Only

Iran has indicated a readiness to discuss its nuclear program, focusing solely on militarization concerns. However, it firmly rejects any negotiations aimed at dismantling its nuclear capabilities, stating such talks would not occur.

Iran has expressed a conditional willingness to engage in discussions regarding its nuclear program, emphasizing that these talks should exclusively address concerns related to potential militarization. However, Iranian authorities firmly maintain that they will never consider discussions that entail the complete dismantling of their nuclear program. This stance was communicated through the Iranian mission to the United Nations, as reported by News.Az via TASS.

The Iranian diplomatic mission clarified, “If the goal of the talks is to resolve concerns about the potential militarization of Iran’s nuclear program, then such issues can be discussed. However, if the goal [of the talks] is to eliminate Iran’s peaceful nuclear program in order to say that what the 44th US President Barack Obama failed to achieve has now been achieved, then such talks will never take place.” This statement reinforces Iran’s commitment to preserving its nuclear program while addressing international concerns about its military applications.
