Kuwaiti Authorities Form Strategic Alliance with Microsoft for Digital Advancement

The Kuwaiti technology sector is advancing as the Central Agency for Information Technology and the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority have entered a strategic partnership with Microsoft. This collaboration aims to fast-track Kuwait’s digital transformation, positioning the country as a leader in artificial intelligence, as outlined in Vision 2035.

Omar Al-Omar, the Minister of State for Communications Affairs, remarked that this partnership marks a significant juncture in utilizing AI technologies to promote economic diversification. The initiative is designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, while equipping the workforce with essential skills for future leadership roles in emerging technologies.

Additionally, the scheme will establish a security platform that leverages Microsoft solutions to safeguard Kuwait’s digital infrastructure against cyber threats. Microsoft also plans to introduce a program dedicated to enhancing digital skills within the workforce, concentrating on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies.

Samer Abu-Ltaif, President of Microsoft for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, affirmed that the partnership would significantly boost Kuwait’s digital infrastructure, aiding in achieving economic sustainability. He further stated that efforts will be made to improve cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity in the public sector.

Minister Al-Omar announced that the government intends to implement Microsoft’s Copilot for Microsoft 365 within government agencies, which is anticipated to elevate efficiency and productivity. Plans are underway to establish the Copilot Solutions Center of Excellence and expand data centers to cater to the escalating demand for high-performance computing and Microsoft services in the Kuwaiti private sector.
