Egypt and Benin Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

On March 8, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Mr. Badr Abdelatty, held a phone conversation with Mr. Olushegun Bakari, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Benin, to explore avenues for reinforcing their bilateral relations. During their discussion, Mr. Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s commitment to enhancing cooperative frameworks between the two nations, with a focus on trade, investment, security, and energy sectors.

Mr. Abdelatty further conveyed Egypt’s willingness to contribute to Benin’s developmental initiatives, particularly by broadening economic collaboration and exchanging technical knowledge. He indicated Egypt’s readiness to share valuable expertise across several industries, including construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, digitization, pharmaceutical manufacturing, mining, and agricultural production. The minister stressed the significance of enhancing collaboration in the pharmaceutical domain, advocating for the improved accessibility of Egyptian pharmaceutical products within the Beninese market, citing their superior quality and competitiveness.
