Tayali Advocates for 16th Protocol to Enhance Tanzania-Zambia Railway

Transport and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali has called for the finalization of the 16th protocol to enhance the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA) operations. He acknowledged progress made by both Tanzania and Zambia and highlighted the need for cooperation with China. Additionally, Transport and Logistics Permanent Secretary Fredrick Mwalusaka noted that TAZARA currently operates under the 15th protocol, indicating the urgent need for progression towards the 16th one. This advancement is pivotal for optimizing the operational dynamics of the railway.

Meanwhile, Counsellor Jin Jun conveyed the Chinese government’s eagerness to gain insights regarding the 16th technical cooperation. He mentioned that the existing agreements could be renegotiated and expressed contentment with the positive feedback received from the Tanzanian authorities the previous year.
