Cuba and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Relations During Official Visit
Esteban Lazo Hernández, Cuba’s National Assembly President, met with Zanzibar’s President Hussein Ali Mwinyi during his Tanzania visit. They discussed strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation, particularly in health care, while expressing gratitude for Tanzania’s support against the U.S. blockade. Lazo also held talks with the head of the Zanzibar House of Representatives to promote trade and inter-parliamentary cooperation and toured a project targeting malaria.
Esteban Lazo Hernández, who serves as the President of the National Assembly of People’s Power and of the Council of State, conducted a meeting with Hussein Ali Mwinyi, the President of Zanzibar, on the second day of his visit to Tanzania. Their talks were aimed at promoting inter-parliamentary cooperation, establishing friendship groups, and enhancing bilateral trade. Moreover, he met with Cuban aid workers in Zanzibar and visited the Biolarvicide Plant in Kibaha; a project supported by Cuban experts aimed at combating malaria.
