Egypt and Armenia Enhance Cooperation in the Health Sector

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, highlighted the commitment of both nations to enhancing health partnerships to benefit their citizens.
Key discussions included the modernization of existing agreements between the health ministries of both countries. The parties focused on potential training programs and exchanges of medical expertise aimed at strengthening capacity building within their healthcare systems.
Further deliberations revolved around the pharmaceutical and vaccine sector, emphasizing the possibility of exporting Egyptian medicines to Armenia. The parties considered signing bilateral agreements to promote trade in pharmaceuticals and the Armenian delegation received an invitation to visit the Egyptian Drug Authority to familiarize themselves with regulatory processes, particularly regarding the company Vacsera.
To enhance practical cooperation, Minister Abdel Ghaffar suggested organizing a field visit for the Armenian ambassador to observe Egyptian pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies and capabilities. Additionally, advancements in health insurance within Armenia were discussed, with invitations extended for an Armenian delegation to visit Egypt to evaluate the operational structures of its health insurance system.
In a bid to strengthen bilateral ties, they proposed arranging for a delegation of Egyptian pharmaceutical manufacturers and healthcare professionals to visit Armenia in July. This visit aims to uncover business opportunities, promote collaboration between Egyptian companies and Armenian medical facilities, and foster joint health investments.
Ambassador Sarkissian expressed Armenia’s enthusiasm for deepening collaboration with Egypt, especially in pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical training, and knowledge transfer. He extended an official invitation from the Armenian Minister of Health for Minister Abdel Ghaffar to visit Armenia, aiming to broaden the joint health initiatives between the two countries.
