Tehran’s Commitment to Enhanced Cooperation with UAE: Deputy FM
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi affirmed Tehran’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the UAE during a diplomatic meeting in Abu Dhabi. The discussions, co-chaired with UAE official Lana Nusseibeh, centered around advancing political and economic ties while addressing regional issues. Both nations expressed dedication to enhancing bilateral collaboration and reacting to pressing challenges, particularly regarding Palestine.
In a significant diplomatic meeting held in Abu Dhabi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, reiterated Tehran’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The discussions focused on mutual interests and the overarching goal of fostering regional stability.
The Joint Iran-UAE Committee Meeting on Political Consultations, co-chaired by Mr. Takht-Ravanchi and Lana Nusseibeh, the UAE’s Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, aimed at expanding political and economic ties while addressing critical regional and international matters.
Mr. Takht-Ravanchi highlighted Iran’s strategic foreign policy goal of strengthening relationships with its neighboring countries. He described the meeting as a pivotal move toward increasing bilateral coordination and emphasized the need to accelerate implementing existing agreements while exploring new avenues for cooperation.
In addition to bilateral discussions, Mr. Takht-Ravanchi brought attention to wider regional issues, advocating for unity among Islamic countries against Israeli policies in Palestine. He signaled the upcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers’ summit as an essential platform for Muslim nations to take a consolidated stance against actions that threaten Palestinian stability in Gaza.
Ms. Nusseibeh reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to fostering comprehensive relations with Iran and expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would lead to the effective execution of agreements and greater collaboration across various sectors. She also reiterated the UAE’s strong opposition to the forced displacement of Gaza’s populace.
Both nations acknowledged the progress made in vital collaborative fields, including economic, consular, and security matters. They pledged to expedite discussions regarding the finalization of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) currently under negotiation, especially related to the Joint Economic Commission and Coast Guard Cooperation Meetings.
