Defections Strengthen APC in Zamfara as Former AAC Candidate Joins

Aminu Jaji welcomed Muhammad Kabir-Sani, the former AAC governorship candidate, into the APC in Zamfara, along with former PDP members. This defection follows a meeting where the newcomers expressed confidence in Jaji’s leadership and the party’s potential for development. Jaji assured them of fair treatment and urged their active participation in party activities.

Aminu Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives representing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, welcomed the former African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate, Muhammad Kabir-Sani, into the APC. Kabir-Sani’s defection occurred alongside former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly candidates’ forum, marking a significant political shift in the region.

The defectors, along with thousands of supporters, joined the APC under the Jajiyya political movement led by Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka. Their decision followed a meeting with Jaji at his residence in Gusau, where they expressed their belief in the APC’s potential for development, crediting Jaji’s achievements in Zamfara.

Kabir-Sani articulated their motivation for joining the APC, stating, “We are convinced with the performance and good representation of Aminu Jaji considering various developmental achievements he had recorded in his constituency and Zamfara in general.” Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, representing the PDP forum, added that the APC remains the strongest political party in the state, reinforcing their commitment to the party.

Mr. Jaji, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Ecological Fund, praised the defectors for their decision, describing it as a positive development for the APC. He assured them of good treatment and collaboration to strengthen the party’s position throughout the state.

Ajiya-Anka, the APC-Jajiyya movement chairman, characterized the movement as the most influential political group in Zamfara, with a robust presence in all fourteen local government areas. He assured the defectors that they would be actively involved in party activities without discrimination, emphasizing the importance of unity and stability within the APC.

The recent defection of Muhammad Kabir-Sani, along with former PDP members, to the APC signifies a strategic political alignment aimed at enhancing governance in Zamfara. Their decision reflects confidence in Aminu Jaji’s leadership and the APC’s development track record. As these new members integrate into the APC, it is expected that their involvement will bolster the party’s influence and operational capacity across the state.
