The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo is proposing a security deal to U.S. President Donald Trump that would link access to valuable minerals with military protection, similar to negotiations regarding Ukraine. This offer is extended to the European Union as well, aimed at combating the illegal mining practices currently benefiting Rwanda.

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which is a major source of critical minerals, is proposing a security partnership with President Donald Trump. This initiative resembles an agreement being formulated in relation to Ukraine, wherein the DRC seeks military protection in exchange for access to its valuable resources.

Tina Salama, a spokesperson for President Tshisekedi, emphasized the urgency and significance of the proposition, suggesting that American companies currently procure strategic raw materials from Rwanda.
