Qatar Submits Memorandum to ICJ on Israel’s Obligations Regarding UN Operations

The memorandum was presented by Qatar’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, His Excellency Dr. Mutlaq bin Majid Al Qahtani. In the document, Qatar emphasized that Israel must permit UN and various humanitarian organizations, including the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), to function within Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for UNRWA, in alignment with its international obligations and commitment to multilateralism. She highlighted UNRWA’s ongoing provision of essential services to millions of Palestinian refugees across different regions, warning that a ban on the agency’s activities would lead to significant humanitarian and political ramifications.
