Kshitij Tyagi, representing India at the session, expressed concern over Pakistan’s leaders who he claimed continue to propagate falsehoods stemming from a military-terrorist alliance. He asserted that Pakistan misuses the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as a platform for its narratives, which he deemed a mockery of the council’s purpose.

Emphasizing India’s perspective, Tyagi reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir, alongside Ladakh, is an essential component of India. He highlighted the notable political, social, and economic advancements in these regions over recent years, attributing these successes to the government’s commitment to pacify a territory marred by prolonged crises influenced by Pakistani terrorism. Tyagi stated, “These successes are a testament to the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to bring normalcy to a region scarred by decades of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”

Furthermore, Tyagi urged Pakistan to redirect its focus from its unhealthy fixation on India to addressing the pressing issues affecting its populace. He concluded by reaffirming India’s dedication to democracy and the advancement of its citizens’ dignity, stating, “Values that Pakistan would do well to learn from.” These remarks followed an earlier statement by India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, who condemned Pakistan’s dissemination of misinformation and reiterated India’s territorial claims over Jammu and Kashmir.
