He expressed concerns regarding internal and external parties dissatisfied with the Syrians’ joy over their revolutionary achievements, urging caution as the country works towards rebuilding after extensive damage.

Concerning future governance, al-Shara commented, “We should not import systems that do not suit the country’s condition, nor should we turn societies into laboratories to implement political dreams.” He indicated that authorities are currently pursuing those responsible for crimes against the Syrian population over the past two months.

The National Dialogue Conference, attended by approximately 600 figures from diverse backgrounds, seeks to establish recommendations for Syria’s upcoming phase. The conference commenced with a session focused on constitutional priorities, following an introductory session held previously. Notably, 570 out of 600 invited attendees participated in this significant event.

Participants will be organized into six specialized committees addressing various transitional phase topics such as institutional development, constitutional drafting, transitional justice, public freedoms, and economic matters. The proceedings will remain private, with official statements issued by the conference’s preparatory committee upon concluding the discussions.
